you win= good to hear
you lose= hmmmmm. sounds irritating to the ears.

good question for the admins. i too doesnt know how to turn it off.

I think this has to do with these lines in winboard.ini

/soundIcsWin="!Win"
/soundIcsLoss="!Lose"
/soundIcsDraw="!Draw"

try:

/soundIcsWin=""
/soundIcsLoss=""
/soundIcsDraw=""

No need to manually mess with winboard.ini

Go to options, sounds and select the event sound you want to change....and change it to whatever or disable it.

and trust me i do, you wouldn't believe some of the stupid questions i've had that i found the answer for myself and realized it was right in front of me

...i'm a medical student that studied biology and chemistry...i'm a little new to computer chess but i learn fast...i've gone from knowing nothing about cars to doing motor swaps etc in just a few months(i taught myself how to rebuild rear axles in a week and most master mechanics wont touch them lol) and the first time i'd ever even heard of rybka/fritz etc was approx 2 months ago and now i'm giving dene a run for his money on yahoo with a 2.8ghz dual core lol
