Yay related

Postby smardoi » 28 Jan 2008 02:19

First post,

I use yay with winboard and ChessBase10... have 2 questions:

1. how can you auto-save all the games you played in yahoo?

2. How can I change game settings in ChessBase 10 without disconnecting from one game to another?

Thanks!

P.S. Go to piratebay.org and search for rybka :) enjoy.

All the games you played with autoplayer are saved automatically in autoplay.cbh.You need to rename them ,incase you want to maintain a record againt opponents on yahoo chess.

About changing game settings ,just click on 'X' on the top left in fritz and change timer .Than again file ---->new 2 computer game etc.

Be aware that stupid Yahoo only sends the "gameover" comand when the game ends in a checkmate. Games that end in three fold repetition or because someone ran out of time or because someone resigned will never get the gameover command and the game is not adjudicated.

There is an option as well in Winboard to save games in PGN format, it actualy creates a PGN database of all the games played.

Good luck,
Using engines to cheat:
- It is not ethical,
- It is useless, nothing is gained (how can one be proud of a score earn with dishonesty?)
- You will be baned, sooner or later,
- It gives us (the true chess engine players) a bad reputation.

Thanks a lot guys!

I had to dig for the "autoplay.cbh" file. Games are there. Also thanks for the Winboard PNG option.

With the second issue I still have problems. When I click on the stop icon the connection to winboard stops as well and can't reconnect unless I start from the beginning.

It might be a setting that I'm not aware of...

Thanks for your help!

You mean it affects all the other programs and close them, too?

As I said the connection to winboard stops all programs are running. If I want to autoplay again I get the connect hardware dialog but unable to reconnect to winboard and need to start from scratch.

If you directly close winboard, that's what happens. (to me at least)

You need to get out of the room by typing the command firstly; then, sit another table if you wish or terminate the connection between your CB program and Yay.
