Lucky for you chessanytime.com it is running an ICS deamon(that's how they are called in the unix enviroment, like IRC deamons and so on) in the background, so, before you invest anymore of your valuable time trying to connect a winboard/polyglot or winboard/chessbase set up to ciberchess.com, you need to find out if this site is running an ICS deamon. If is not, you will never be able to make winboard/polyglot or winboard/chessbase set ups to connect to this site(unless you write a whole new program like YtoICS) and you will be limited to use their java or whatever way to do it.

I hope this clarifies the issue. I am willing to help you connect to any ICS server as long as you know for sure that that servers exists and you give me the ics server ip address or name and the ics server port, otherwise we all will be wasting our time.

Cheers,
Using engines to cheat:
- It is not ethical,
- It is useless, nothing is gained (how can one be proud of a score earn with dishonesty?)
- You will be baned, sooner or later,
- It gives us (the true chess engine players) a bad reputation.

however , it is easy to cheat an autochessplayer in chessanytime , , i could cheat an autochessprogram without using a program , i think a lot of people know that , just dont move for a time and then the program is out . unfortunately http://www.ciberchess.com doesnt run with ics , it is really a shame

How make polyglot play in this web server

Postby elcriollito » 17 Apr 2008 23:09

to Pollo11 & Maternatiko

it is easy to connect fritz GUI in autoplay on these server that support ICS like

Freechess.org
freechess.org /icsport=5000 /icshelper=timeseal

chess anytime
chessanytime.com /icsport=5000

but I don't make my polyglot play there,I can connect as guest, and I can play manually
like is he play e4 ,I have to type in the ICS any move like e5 and continue playing manually

maternatiko let me know if exist eny possibility
this is how i do,

1-open winboard
2-check "Play against a chess engine or match two engines"
3-check "Use and Internet Chess Serve"
4-select the server I want to play
4.1-freechess.org /icsport=5000 /icshelper=timeseal
5-Log in: type "GUEST"
6-Enter
and then I select any table to play but my polyglot wont move auto,I have to play manually the whole game

many commands like
observe, unobserve, play, resign, draw >>they work there for Fritz GUI
"The winner of the game is the player who makes the next-to-last mistake."

I don't think u can play there, its connection is thru a java,no ICS wich let u play, knowing its port conecction too,

If u still wanna try something do this old trick

play 10min games
open winboard, fritz etc ,set it for 5min games
and move in winbord or fritz, what u oponnet play, hahahhahaha
he will be playing versus your engine

this is old trick, but still working

Pollo11 look what message I get from the server

http://www.ciberchess.com/ciberchess/

I made some wild guess ,and I think I am getting close
this happened when I tested this way

ciberchess.com/ciberchess/ icsport=6000

Image

and now I tested in other way

ciberchess.com/ icsport=6000

Image

I tested with these port
5000
6000
7890
with the different way u see there and the pic will say the same message when I use one way or another way
"The winner of the game is the player who makes the next-to-last mistake."
