Private tables?

Postby AutoChessFan » 05 Jul 2011 02:15

When I join the pogo ics and make a table I've found that players ignore the fact that I only want to play programs! Im not interested in stealing people's points, but they join my game anyway. To my knowledge, yayp cannot make private tables. I have to resign whenever a human player joins so I don't make them angry. However, this gets very tedious and I was wondering if there's any way we could see private tables in yayp soon? Otherwise if people keep joining I might have just let the game play out until they learn their lesson and leave me alone.

AutoChessFan,

Reading this particular post from you makes me happy and honoured that I assisted when you needed help. We need more players like you on the internet.

Okay, the good thing with YaYp is that it has an auto-message that warns players coming to your table that you use auto chess program. If these human players refuse to heed these warnings, you can't hold your self at fault for "supposedly cheating" if they ignore the auto-warning message and insist on playing. It's not like you deliberately silence your program. So the choice is really up to human players to keep playing or leave. Sensible human players who know their "limits" usually leave.

Check the YaYp documents about the commands to use to make your table private. Another thing to do is use the "rating differential formula" command. This too is in the YaYp document.
