Hi people. I have a big problem and I'm posting this topic after exhausting all possible solutions I can think of. I've always had my egtb in Nalimov format extension in this format: .emd.

I was downloading the 5-part egtb and I mistakenly clicked on the .emd files and assigned my computer to open these .emd nalimov-egtb files with wordpath and all my nalimov tablebases were automatically converted to wordpard format (and the .emd extension was taken off).

I've searched the internet for .emd file opener in hopes to restore my nalimoves back to its original state but without success.

Can anyone please enlighten me on how I can revert my Nalimov-egtb back to its original .emd state?

Relax,

The extention emd was no taken away it is just hidden.

Open the explorer, go to where you nalimov files are, then click on Tools and select folder options, click on the view tab then uncheck the option "Hide extentions for known file types."

OK, now you can see the extention stills there. As far as having wordpad as the default program to open these files when you double click on them I do not think that is a problem.

Anyway, to remove the association these .emd files now have with wordpad, open the explorer again, click on tools, folder options, then click on the TAB File Types, scroll down and select the emd file type and click on Delete, note that this action won't delete the files as you might think, it will just delete the association they have with wordpad.

Your recommendation solved my problems and now, all my .emd files have been restored to their original states and formats. And you were right maternatiko, the .emd file-extension were not taken off , but instead, hidden.
