this is one of the games i lost:

As you can see ADAMX autochess was brutally murdered in this game, but its only one such example.

Can you advice how to strengthen the engine or change the engine to rybka3 and also how to use a different opening book, pls advice..

Thanks

Are yo in 32 bits or 64 bits Operating System?

What are your computer specs? (CPU, single, dual, quad?, speed?, ram, etc)

What book do you use?

Using a computer is not a win guarantee, there are lots of guys out there working hard on their computers and their books.
Using engines to cheat:
- It is not ethical,
- It is useless, nothing is gained (how can one be proud of a score earn with dishonesty?)
- You will be baned, sooner or later,
- It gives us (the true chess engine players) a bad reputation.

Agreed. Very many things play a part in computer chess. It is very possible that your oponents hardware was far superior to yours, and or the opening book he/she used was far superior.

Im running on a 32 bit windows XP system which has only about 1gb RAM, the opoening book currently being used is Mybook18, the processor is pretty old Intel pentium M 1.6Mhz

But i dont see how hardware matters in lightning chess, it should just be the opening book right?

I also pasted the xml file configs we had to make for the AQUARIUM ADAPTER, I dont know if thts wrong, maybe thats why? but if it were wrong i dont think it would even start. I deleted the original engine which was rybka.exe and copied the file "Rybka 3 1-cpu w32.exe" to the engines folder. renamed it to rybka3.exe.

as for the xml file I modified the path, put my rybka3ctg in the /test folder and renamed example to "rob"

replaced all the test/book.ctg/ to /test/rybka3gen.ctg

does this all look right?

If its all right and if its my opening book thats the problem,. mind recommending something else?

thanks

Forgive me for beeing sincere, but that computer is not good enough for autolplaying....there are big monsters out there. At the very least dual cores @ 3.0 Ghz on 64 bits Windows.. up to 8 or 16 cores @ 4.0 Ghz each.

Good luck,

I smiled when i read the specs of Fritz10thinker. I just wanted to leave him with a link so he might develop an idea of how hardware relates to auto-chess. http://cluster.rybkachess.com/ Sometimes even 36 cores might not be enough.!!!
