I have the mp version of Naum 4.2. Do you happen to have the sp version? Do you know if there is a difference between the two played on a single processor? I'm curious to see if the sp version plays a better game on my laptop?

It should not make any difference in your case. Releasing SP and MP versions is just a merchantability thing.

I was curious about that because I know some of the open source engines optimize for single core, and they do actually play faster than there MP counterparts. I also have shredder 12 sp and shredder 12 mp, and it seems the search is slightly different. Shredder 12 SP is definately stronger on my single core.
