Merging all PGN files

Postby XsupremeX » 22 Nov 2008 15:30

By Charles

Basically:

Put all of the Pgn files in one folder

And in the DOS prompt or Command prompt

Change directory to that folder, use - cd

and in the prompt window type

copy *.pgn games.pgn

then press enter

the name "games.pgn" was just the name I gave the file. Put the file name you want but add the .pgn extension.

A very old MS-DOS command, but unknown to those brougth up using Windows. Thanks a lot for sharing such an easy but very important command.

cheers,

Using engines to cheat:
- It is not ethical,
- It is useless, nothing is gained (how can one be proud of a score earn with dishonesty?)
- You will be baned, sooner or later,
- It gives us (the true chess engine players) a bad reputation.
