I TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES IN SETTING UP THE YAY TO MY COMPUTER BUT UNSUCCESSFUL. IS THERE ANYONE OF YOU WHO CAN HELP ME SETUP ANY OF THE YAY,STUCI,CHESSY ,YOU NAME A FEW. I BE GLAD IF I HAVE IT. TY.

i use windows vista ultimate 64 bit

i tried to save the YaY 1.1 b0tij0n Editi0n.rar as a compressed file to my computer but i can't connect. and if i connect, it saves but not a compressed file. but rather it saves as an adobe file.

Check your internet connection. Yeah it will save an adobe file, if you have adobe photoshop installed. That named as "textwordimage" right?

problem in setting up winboard. on target part where you copy and paste the rest of the path. i get message that it is wrong path or folder.

Youre setting up to use YaY, correct?

Ok, for YaY, if you have your winboard installed on C drive, check the program files folder on your C drive, rename the winboard folder so its simply called WinBoard (as it might be called winboard-4_2_7b or something similar).

Once you have renamed the folder WinBoard, use this target line in your winboard desktop shortcut...

"C:\Program Files\WinBoard\WinBoard.exe" /zp /ics /icshost 127.0.0.1 /icsport 6000 /fcp="winboard232d.exe -pipe"

Copy and paste that exactly as it is here, including the " at the start and finish of the target line!

If it still wont accept the target line, check that you have put the winboard232d file in the winboard folder thats located in program files on your C drive.

The winboard shortcut targetline has nothing to do with chess engine locations when using YaY and chessbase programs.

i got the winboard problem settled. now my problem is downloading the YaY 1.1 bOtijOn Edition.rar as a compressed zip file. each time i download this, its being downloaded as an adobe file.

Ok, first download and install the free trial of WinRAR from here...

When installing WinRAR if you follow the default settings it should set up your computer to open all Zipped files with WinRAR (well mine did anyway).

Then Download the latest version of YaY from here...

http://www.members.cox.net/zozur/

Just click on the link to download YaY 1.1 on that site.

If for some reason your computer is still trying to open Zipped files with the wrong program, right click on the download of YaY, go to properties and open it with WinRar.
