You also need to tell us what kind of rig (system) you have.... most players above 2200 are not a piece of cake....they are seasoned players using perhaps their own book...a dual and maybe a quad core and probably even overclocked.... so, what kind of system do you have?
There is no need to think (either a human or a chess engine) at the begining of the game....so many billions of games thru chess history had determined what are the best moves at the beginig of the game (opening)....so, that's what opening book does, stores the best positions and makes your engine move fast at the begining of the game which gives or at least tries to give you two advantages:
- Do not waste precious time at the begining,
-And leave you in the best position possible after the books runs out of moves.
Human players used to stored in their brains probably up to five or six moves for the opening, with computers nowdays an opening book can go way further than that and that's why there is hundreds of thousands of different opening books. No to mention that each books is hand tune for a particular engine playing style.
Make it a long story short, yes you need an opening book.
I hope from now own you do your research before asking a question because it is very dissapointing to see someone trying to autoplay chess and does not even know what an opening book is.
You have to options from now on, I mean, if you really want to be competitive in auto-playing chess:
-First, option, try very hard....search this forum and the internet for the answers and only ask again when you had tried very.....but I mean...very, very, very hard.
-Second option, forget about this and go play pool or something else, because autoplaying chess is not for those that give up easy, is not for those that need someone to explain to them every single thing.
Asi que tu decides.
Cheers,
Using engines to cheat:
- It is not ethical,
- It is useless, nothing is gained (how can one be proud of a score earn with dishonesty?)
- You will be baned, sooner or later,
- It gives us (the true chess engine players) a bad reputation.
