This website has a quick primer for setting up YaY.
http://members.cox.net/zozur/gringos.shtml

In short though, you should click Start, run... type in cmd
At the window that opens, type in
cd\perl\bin
ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/Crypt-SSLeay.ppd

and then pretty much type yes or enter to agree to everything that follows.

Concerning STUCI and why it's never really done... here's a metaphor: Instead of being a construction worker, I'd rather be an architect.
Losing too many games because of a slow PC? No problem, nUCI it!

I did a google search for this problem and did not find a solution, you gonna have to contact ActivePerl and/or the creators of Crypt::SSLeay. Are you logged into your windows OS with admin priviliges?

or-----

:You can forget about installing this module and use YaY instead, the getapplet section integrated in YaY does not requieres Crypt::SSLeay to work. Bear in mind that https provides a secure socket connection with Yahoo login page when sending your precious Id's password. If you are concern about this, then keep looking for a solution to your problem.

Note: I am not trying to convert a STUCI user to YaY, I am just trying to provide an alternate solution to his/her problem.

Here are clear instructions to follow for updating active pearl in case you have a version that needs updating to run stuci.

Active pearl update by commnd prompt to get applet for yahoo to work

Type CMD into Start/Run to open command box

Then in the command box that has now opened...

type: cd c:\perl\bin

Press enter

Type: ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/Crypt-SSLeay.ppd

press enter and wait for the patch to be downloaded

Type: yes

Press enter and wait a few seconds

Type: yes

Press enter

type: c:\perl\bin

Press enter

type: yes

Press enter

type: c:\perl\bin

Press enter and this will finish the package installation

Type: exit

Press enter and this will close the command prompt window.

I think you are better off installing active pearl version 5.8.8.822 instead of the latest version. Then install the Crypt-SSLeay update by following my guide. As there is apparently a problem with the tk modules not being included in the latest version of Active Pearl.

I can answer some of your questions here....

Example> To set formula rating at 2100 for autoboot: set formula rating>=2100

Example> To leave table 27: obs 27
(on this version of stuci joining a table and leaving a table can both be achieved by this command)

Start game automatically: set autostart

Boot manual> Example, to manually boot ID rule_britannia_0000: boot rule_britannia_0000

To edit welcome message: You will have to look through the script, I know where this is in the YaY script (In YaY its under sub rop_tableentry { # 6a), but I have never looked or attempted to edit any of the table entry messages in the Stuci script, and I dont have the time to try this myself right now ..sorry!
