I want to connect with Winboard to a online chess server with my engine (Fritz 11). I got a (C) Account on the Server. Please give me instructions how I do that.
What kind of server is running at chess.net?
To connect to an ICSd(Internet Chess Server deamon), all you need is Winboard and know the host and port number. With Winboard and some well known tricks then you can use a chessbase like GUI interface or just plain Winboard with Polyglot.
YaY, STUCI and YtoICS Reborn are ICS emulators to connect to Yahoo.
There are several Chess Servers out there, some run their own priopertry softaware ( If this the case you might just forget about using auto chess programs there, unless you are willing to spend months dveloping your own emulator), and some use an ICSd in the background(if this is the case then today just might be your lucky day).
So, do you homework and give is more information about the server you are trying to connect to. Telling us "chess.net" is not enough.chess.net
Good luck,
