Fritz 11 and winboard

Postby vsasca » 09 May 2009 20:14

I'm using fritz 11 gui and rybka 3 to connect yahoo.
When i start the game, there is a great difference between the clock of Winboard e the clock of Fritz 11.
The clock of fritz 11 is not aligned to the clock of winboard.
It seems that fritz 11 gui, have the same time clock when starting, also if the time of the game i play on yahoo is changed.

Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance

It is impossible.

Fritz's Auto232 1.0 does not support timeseal, therefor ignores the clock updates sent by winboard.

Sorry, but this problem is never going to be fixed unless Chessbase itself comes with a solution.

Cheers,

I don't understand, you are saying that i'm the only player that has this problem, or that all the players with the same platform as me are in the same situation?

All the players with the same platform as you are in the same situation (Polyglot does not have this issue).....This is a very old problem and lots has been written about it. The only way to not run out of time is to adjust Fritz clock lower, for example in a 10/0 games, adjust it to 9/0 or even 8/0.

Note: Understand that this happens only when using Auto232 in a way that was not intended to. Auto232 was designed to play against another computer connected thru the zerial port, it was not designed to played in Yahoo. This problem does not happen in PCC because the connection to PCC is not by Auto232.

PCC= PLAY CHESS dot COM

It is the place registered Chessbase users are entiled to go for free(A year I think).... it is the place where the stronger players go....etc.

When you first launch FRITZ, you will see the option: Playchess.com
