ok I see.
It is the same as the one posted at the start of the thread but your download link has both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

What is this SSE2?

The SSE2 compiles are for newer Intel/AMD CPUs that support Intel/AMD SSE2 (a faster coding) compile instructions. Loosely speaking, the Intel/AMD SSE2 instructions are specific coding that is tailored towards the newer Intel/AMD processors for faster performance.

Hence, if you have the older Intel/AMD CPUs (these do not have the SSE2), the build or compile most suitable for these older Intel/AMD processors are the non-SSE2 compiles.

For future references, here is his link to all FireBird's compiles and updates by/and from kranium

how do I know if my processor supports SSE2? Is there a list somewhere or do you happen to know what the earliest supported model is?

You'll need this utility to check if your processor supports SSE2.
Every modern processor supports SSE2.
And Unless you have a really old one there shouldn't be any problem.

Download it Here

Members,

The link to FireBird engine and its updates are all in the chesslogik site /download link which I posted in this thread. For either 32-bit, 64-bit or just any updates/news, just click on the link I provided and it will take you there. Try it and see. No need for separate or individual download link for FireBird 64-bit or 32-bit.

So once again, here is kraniums' site for any updates for both 32-bits and 64-bits
http://www.chesslogik.com/FireBird.htm

Thank you.

7zip says Triplebases have an unsupported compression format...??

anyone else have this trouble or is it just because I try to use 7zip?

EDIT: I got it to work with BitZipper

the triplebase comes in tar file. you can use the 7zip file manager. open the 7zip file manager/tools/options/check tar/ok. you can then extract the tar file with the 7zip file manager. cheers
