Extra Info

No ELO improvement announcement here! I'm quite sure that 1.3 is better than 1.2 in this regard, but some people feel compelled to prove you wrong at any cost, if you announce any ELO improvement...thus, i will remain silent on this issue.
i sugget you test it for yourself! (i don't really give a damn about the result!)
i only know one thing for sure: it's a greatly improved engine...in many ways!
and that's all that's important!

1.31

maintenance release
with Fire 1.2 and 1.3, Totalbases and Triplebases can be configured to autoload on engine startup only via the fire.cfg file, so i've added 2 new UCI options, and associated code, which enables configuration of 'autoloading of Robbobases' via UCI GUIs:
Autoload Totalbases
Autoload Triplebases
id name and id author are now placed outside of 'if
(CfgFound)' statement in static void uci()
this was causing Fire 1.3 to not load in Fritz and CB
Hash size wasn't being read properly if using fire.cfg
this has now been fixed

FireBird 1.3.1 has an auto-CPU detection mechanism and it will automatically use the maximum CPUs available in your PC. Besides this, could you be specific in the assistance you're asking for?

By Kranium:

Fire 1.4 xTreme beta is available

This is a beta release, made available for your enjoyment and evaluation...
please report any issues, problems so that I can incorporate changes/fixes into the next release.

w/ extreme user configurability:
(60 system, search, eval, and material options available via an external fire.cfg)

Configuration file creation options:
Simply type:
'default' (generates a fire.cfg w/ default parameters)
or:
'random' (generates a fire.cfg w/ random parameters)
'rand_eval' (generates a fire.cfg w/ random eval parameters)
'rand_material' (generates a fire.cfg w/ random material parameters)
'rand_prune' (generates a fire.cfg w/ random prune parameters)
'rand_search' (generates a fire.cfg w/ random search parameters)
at the console prompt to generate a unique fire.cfg file.

In the fire.cfg file:
Use 'Random_Range' paramter to determine range of variance...
Random_Range is set by default to 20 (this means +- 20%)

After creation, the fire.cfg file will be loaded on next startup.
An excellent method for saving and loading custom user options for
testing outside of a UCI GUI, i.e. w/ little_blitzer, etc.

If a fire.cfg file exists in the same diretory as Fire.exe,
UCI options are disabled, except for Hash and Max Threads.

Best regards-
Norm
