Hi Aaron,

Thanks for links. What does PCC refer to ? Is it the Chessbase Playchess server ? A lot of the games seem to be from January and are human games of all different levels, rather than engine games ?

PCC= Play Chess . Com.........The games are only between engine vs engine. This file you also can download in spaghetti site.

Guys,

Be careful here. I just downloaded the February PCC games (Playchess.com) from the link on Spaghetti site. There is a game in there between Anarquia 69 and Mike van Damme where black resigns after 5 moves. The same game appears 18 times so if anyone is using these games to add to a book it will completely screw up the move statistics. I'm not suggesting this has been done deliberately to mess up the bookmakers efforts, but I would recommend checking all the games before you use them in any book as I only spotted that one - there may be more invalid games.

I don't undersdtand the concern.

When filtering games in a CHessbase GUI, there is the "Delete Repeated Games", function that everybody should know about. So only one instance of this game will be left.

If the first 5 moves where garbage, they will be ignored by the "minimum games" function.

Please observe that I might be wrong about Chessbase terminology, it has been ages since I used chessbase.

Is not my intention to say "Hey don't post this warnings".... My intention is to say: "Hey, do not get paranoic about this, there are ways around bad games in a database".
