When i open up winboard and and select "play against a chess engine or match two engines" and choose my deep rybka 3 program that is listed under my first chess program names, and winboard pops up and says starting chess program then a microsoft box comes up and says rybka 3 w32.exe has stopped working. Here is my winboard.ini.

(C:\Documents and Settings\Rob.BASEMENT\My Documents\Winboard_X\chess engines\rybka 3 w32)-this is the address where my chess program and opening book are located in the rybka 3 w32 file, which is in my chess engines folder. I tried to copy and paste my screen shot but the paste option is not avaliable in this message body. (please tell me why).

Also can this be because something in my polyglot.ini is wrong

Winboard by itself can not access UCI engines like rybka.

You need to use polyglot and of course create and edit a polyglot.ini accordingly.

I won't explain here how to do that cause that information is easyly available in this FORUM and all over the internet.

*Just one observation, we do not like to modify the winboard.ini to declare the first and/or second engines. What we do instead is create a special shortcut for Winboard with instructions declaring the First Chess Program "/fcp". This information is also available here. Search and find.
