Well.....The "user configurable" stage has finally been completed. The team is testing and we'll continue testing for a week or so, if no bugs are reported will be posting a download link.

Any version of YaY is good. But I think it will be much better if it has a GUI. That's the main reason I like chessy. I mean you don't need to type codes, and anything like that.

Althou not imposible, YaY might never provide a GUI...that's what Winboard and Chessbase do...why re-invent the wheel?.....not only that, between Winboard-Winboard232d-Chessbase or Winboard-Polyglot they handle books, save games, communications with the engine etc etc etc. and these programs have been doing that for a long time...hundreds of bugs had been fixed and improvements had been made......Now, if you just want a GUI to avoid typing "create" or "observe"....or "kib" or "shout" ...well, I do not think that's enough reason.........but the seed has been planted and maybe some day.....who knows !!!!!!

I have a problem........when I'm playing with Ultimale YaY I couldn't see chess board. Only could see winboad so that it's problem if someone stand or seat or observe.I read the text but some of points couldn't understand.In text I read we can interface with java.I installed java but don't know how could I set up java interface.Say many players watch our games but I didn't understand how many players watching our games.
Onething In ICS I couldn't send any message to others.Is there any option?
Anybody knows? Anybody can solve my problem? May I help? I will be glad.

Yes dynght, winboard is the only thing u will see! Thats why some players use 2 IDs to log in and use one to watch games better and the other to use program... and about speak you have to know some commands for that and so many things too

Yea i read the text.yea i used 2IDs to watch but maximum time Advanced Lounge (full) & Advanced Lounge2 (full) in that case i couldn't enter those room so what shall i do? Is there any way to enter back door? I need ur help.pls tell what shall i do?

There is no way to send a message(tell) to anybody, not even to people in your buddy list(Yahoo Messenger Contact List). This is something Yahoo changed a year ago or so due to spamming.

As I have mentioned before, YaY will never have a GUI, and the fact that does not have one right now is not a problem and is not a bug. I do, in the other hand, have good news for you guys: I created a windboard.ini file specificaly designed for YaY Ultimate. If you substitute the default winboard.ini file with the one I wrote, most of the commands will be accesible thru the ICS Menu which pops up when you right click on the ICS Interaction window. At this moment this winboard.ini file is in beta testing stage (by our good friend and moderator dene)and I think will be available with YaY Ultimate 2.1.1 which we are planing on releasing in about a week. In regards of this new YaY Ultimate version, do not expect to many changes, just minor typo corrections, added accept invitation subroutine(it was there in the original YtoICS) and modified the observe subroutine to be able to observe a table by user and not just by table number (this was also already in the original YtoICS).

FYI I'll be out on vacation for four days and I do not know if I am going to have acces to a computer with internet. So, if I do not answer to questions you know why.

I wrote b4 when i was using Ultimate 2.1.0 that i couldn't send a massage to anybody so i used 2 ID but dear matematiko informed me in ultimate 2.1.1 ......it is possible with winboard.ini file.Now i'm using Ultimate 2.1.1 & tried to send massage to any body but failed.Acutally i'm not expert so need to help.Any body help me.Inform me how could i send message to anybody.How could i create a winboard.ini file.May i help pls

You missunderstood, unless Yahoo reverts what they did, we will never be able to send private messages to others, at least not thru the chess server.

To create a winboard.ini just use notepad but I do not see why you want to create one. When you execute winboard.exe and not ini file is present, winboard.exe creates one winboard.ini automaticaly. Also, included with YaY_Ultimate.zip there are two winboard.ini files, one for polyglot and one for chessbase programs. The reason there are two different winboard.ini files included, is because when I use polyglot, I use it in conjunction with winboard_x and not the regular winboard. So I probably need to rephrase and say that one winboard.ini is for the regular Winboard and the otherone is for Winboard_X.
